Gelli Printed Cards with Carved Collection 6

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a card making tutorial today, using the Gelli plate together with texture plates made with our stencils and stamps from Carved Collection 6 .

Instead of using the stencils directly on the Gelli plate to create the pattern, I made myself some texture plates with the stencils usind my my die cutting machine! I am using a Sizzix Big Shot and I have to make the following sandwich to do that:

I use the base plate on Tab 1 and then build up the following:

  1. Clear cutting plate
  2. Stencil
  3. Cardstock
  4. Silicone Rubber
  5. Impression Pad

That’s it!
I used the texture plates to create the patterns on the plate. To print the backgrounds I picked four different acrylic paints: turquoise green, ultramarine, light olive green and burnt sienna. I used one colour after another and only printed a smaller part of each card (I used cards cut from the Canson Mix Media paper). That ends up with a fun patchwork pattern.
Once dry I cut them with a frame die and added some background stamping with StazOn Ultramarine and images from Carved Collection 6. My focal images are from the same stamp set and embossed with Distress Oxide inks in Peacock Feathers and Spiced Marmalade.
