Spring Themed Card Tutorial using Pencil Marks #4

Hi everyone! It’s Laura on the Rubber Dance blog today and for today’s post I have a card making tutorial using the lovel flower stamps from the Pencil Marks 4 set on a mixed media background.

First, I cut a card panel to 4 inches x 5.25 inches and I added some lilac coloured acrylic paint. I tried to keep the brush strokes visible to give it an organic look. I then added some stamping in Memento London Fog ink and then added some white heat embossing as well. The ticket stamp is from the Mixed Media Marks 1 Stamp set.

I then stamped, water coloured and fussy cut out my focal elements. I then played around with my arrangement and I used some foam tape behind some of the flowers to add dimension. Don’t be afraid to cut your leaves apart so that you can tuck or add them where you choose! Remember you don’t have to use a stamped image as it is!

I added a stitched border stamp to the bottom right and top left, and I also went around the edge of my card panel with a black ink pad to give it a more ‘framed’ look. I then added foam tape to the back and mounted it onto a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card blank and added a small sentiment which was white heat embossed on black cardstock. Here are some close up photos of my finished card:

I hope this gives you some inspiration to play with your craft supplies! Don’t forget to check out the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge Facebook group too for more inspiration!

Happy crafting!
