Colourful Christmas Cards with XMas Trees and Distress Inks

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a Christmas card tutorial. I’m playing with our Stars and XMas Trees stencils together with Distress Inks and embossing powders.

For the card backgrounds I applied Distress Inks to the Stars stencil, spitzed it with some water and “stamped” it to my paper. I am using the Canson Mix Media Paper. I’m pressing the stencil down with a kitchen roll to soak up the excess of ink.
I picked different colour combinations for the backgrounds. I used Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers with Distress Ink Broken China, Distress Oxide Seedless Preserves together with Wild Honey and Distress Ink Wilted Violet, Distress Oxide Crackling Campfire with Distress Ink Barn Door.
My focal images are three trees made with the XMas Trees stencil. I inked them with different Distress Oxide Inks and embossed them with Glitter embossing powders.

I cut the trees out and adhered them with foam dots to my card.
My sentiment comes with our brand new german card greetings “Kartengrüße“.
