Greeting Card using Inky Flowers and Sketchy Birds

Hi! It’s Laura on the blog today and I’m sharing a card made using the gorgeous Inky Flowers and Sketchy Birds stamp sets. To create a background I simply dry embossed the Organic 3 stencil on white cardstock! It creates such a lovely effect – perfect for when you want to add texture to your background without your background being too busy!

I was working on a 6 x 6 inch card blank today so first I cut my mat layers. I cut a layer of black card, then cerise, then black then white.

The black and cerise layers I glued together and stuck directly on the card base. Next I glued the white embossed layer to the black mat layer. I water coloured lots of the Inky Flowers and fussy cut them out and then arranged them on the white card panel and glued them down once I was happy with my placement. I only glued the centres of the flowers down so that there was a little dimension and movement on the card. I water coloured a Sketchy Bird, fussy cut him out and tucked him in the flowers.

I made a quick video on how I build the card:

I used the sentiment ‘Best Wishes’ from the Inky Flowers stamp set which I popped on some foam tape. I then placed foam tape behind the black and white panel so that it was popped up and then I attached it centrally on the card base on the cerise layer.

I hope you like it! Thank you for stopping by 🙂
