Mixed Media Card using Doodle Flowers 2
Hey! It’s Laura on the blog today and I have some inspiration to share with you using the new Doodle Flowers 2 stamp set!
I really enjoyed creating this mixed media card and I love mixing lots of different Rubber Dance products together – they all work so well together! I find limiting my colour palette really helps me to be creative and so once I’ve decided what colours I’m going to use I set about playing. I kept my swatch of colours again and used them as collage fodder on my card – can you spot it?
To build up some collage I needed to pull together some elements. I had my swatch of colours and then I used another small scrap of watercolour cardstock and I subtly blended the small triangles stencil onto and then I lightly added some text from the Mix it Up 6 stamp set. I had a small scrap of a gel print and also a stamped ticket and I made sure to distress the edges using my scissors around some of the elements. I used some staples to hold it together which also add some interest.
My focal element was a flower from the Doodle Flowers 2 stamp set which I water coloured, fussy cut out and popped on some foam tape.
Before I mounted this cluster onto my card I created a background using the Mix it Up 6 stamp set using Distress Oxides in Black Soot and Hickory Smoke. I added some stenciling using the Cross It stencil and some stamping again in black ink. I then could attach my cluster to my card and I chose to leave it sentiment free!
I hope you like it and that it gives you some inspiration!
Happy Crafting!
