Mixed Media Card Tutorial with Grungy Butterfly

Lindsey (@doodlings_cards) here today with a mixed media card using one of the Grungy Butterflies combined with a collage background! – I’m delighted to have been asked to join the DT team this month as a guest designer 😊

I’m sharing the steps I used to make this mixed media card, inspired by the colours from the May moodboard.

First, I used watercolours for one of the butterflies from the Grungy Butterflies set, and then went in search of complementary green and yellow gelli print backgrounds, inks and thread.

I added some background stamping & a spot of heat embossing using stamps from the Mixed Media Marks 1 set.

… some splatters of black acrylic paint – use a mask if you only want a small area to be splattered!

… and I can’t resist a spot of stitching … and sequins!
