Patchwork Card with Butterfly

Hi there, Susanne here sharing an easy greeting card made with gelli prints and a stamp from our Butterflies and Moths set. To give my butterfly some dimension I covered it completely with clear embossing powder.

I collected together an autumnal color palette with a pink tone from all my collage paper scraps. These were mainly gelli prints. For the background I adhered some torn pieces randomly directly to the card with a glue stick. I tried not to think too much about where to put what. I wanted this process to be easy and relaxing. This is a really quick way to make card (or any other) backgrounds and to use up some of your paper scraps.

Once the background was done I stamped an image from the Butterflies and Moths stamp set with Versafine Clair in black to Canson Mix Media paper. I cut it out and covered it completely with clear embossing powder. This gives it dimension and makes it pop up from the card. I didn’t add any color to it as the background was already quite vibrant.
To create a sentiment I stamped letters from our A to Z stamp set to some other gelli papers. I cut them out and adhered them to the card.

I recently did some similar card backgrounds and shared this video:
