Art Journal Tutorial with Pencil Marks 7

Hello, It’s Sixela here again.

I’m happy to see you again with an art journal tutorial. I used the Rubber Dance Pencil Marks 7, Collage Leaves 2, Doodle Flowers 2 stamps and with the Leaves 2, Marks 3 stencils.

I started by applying white gesso, then I scribbled with watercolor chalk (neocolors 2 type) and I ran a wet brush over it.
I then applied acrylic paint (turquoise green and lilac) and white gesso with my finger.
With a metal tool I made marks on the acrylic paint.

I made a gelpress background with the Leaves 2 stencil. To do this, I applied white gesso to my gelpress. I positioned the stencil and then a scrap sheet that allowed me to remove the excess. Then I spread lilac and turquoise paint. Then I got it all back with a blank sheet of paper. Which gave me this very nice background.

I also made another background in the same colors but without using the stencil.
I tore a few pieces of these two backgrounds and then glued them together.

I applied Indian ink using a cola pen (tool created with the aluminum of a beverage can). And then I hot embossed in white some foliage from the Pencil Marks 7 board.

I made smudges with opera pink watercolor. Then I applied “kitsch flamingo” distress oxide using the Marks 3 stencil  and a small brush. I watercolored the embossed flowers with Opera Rose. And  I drew a line with a black posca all around. And Then I stamped hearts with the black versafine of the Doodle Flowers 2  board.

Then I glued pieces of masking tape and made. A few pencil strokes with white posca.

And to finish, I stamped the text “now” from the Collage Leaves 2 board  that I enhanced with black paper and then I glued it in relief with 3D foam by interposing sewing thread to give texture.

Here are some close-ups of the finished spread:

I wish you a very nice day! Sixela
