Mixed Media Art Journal Page with Collage

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a mixed media art journaling tutorial with our Dotted stencil, Collage and stamps from Mix It Up 6 and A to Z. Scroll down for a video tutorial.
I started the page by stenciling the dot pattern with black acrylic paint and a make up sponge. Once that was dry I primed my paper with clear gesso. I let it dry again and did some random stamping with Mix It Up 6 and A to Z using StazOn ink in black.
I wanted to use a collage fodder piece as my focal image, that I made previously for the #100daychallenge, so I picked colors for the background that are cohesive. I used a light violett Neocolor together with the Antilope Brown acrylic Ink from Daler Rowney. Once that layer was dry I mixed some neon pink acrylic ink with a bit of lemon yellow to make the background more orange.
To make my focal point stand out I added even more collage. I created kind of a frame around the ephemera piece.

Enjoy watching my video tutorial:

The little house on the focal point is made from collage papers. I stamped the roof with an image from Pencil Marks 8 and drew the windows and door with acrylic paint markers. To finish the spread I did some mark making with a neon pink acrylic paint pen and a yellow Neocolor.

Thanks for stopping by today! xx Susanne
