Mastering Creative Layering on a Collage Paper

Hi there, Susanne here with a fun tutorial on how to make a big collage paper with stencil texture, using Mini Marks, Marks 2 & Dotted, our Pencil Marks 8 stamp set, acrylic inks and mark making.

Handmade collage fodder is the best, isn’t it. Today I walk you through the process of creating a big messy collage paper with mixed media and a lot of layers.
I’m starting by making some textured areas with the Mini Marks and Marks 2 stencils and white acrylic paint. Once that was dry I added some stamping with ink and acrylic paint and I added more stencil texture in green with our Dotted stencil. I kept it a bit messy and did also some mark making with a black Stabilo All pencil over some wet gesso which was applied using a palette knife.
It was a very relaxing process and I can’t wait to share some projects using this paper!

Enjoy watching my tutorial!

I finished the paper by drawing some small botanical images with a white Posca Paint pen.

I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
