Art Journal Tutorial with Purr-fect and Inky Friends

Hi friends!

Priss here today and I’m happy to share with you my new art journal tutorial. My square Art Journal is too busy right now, so I had to remove half of the sheets and with them, I’ll make a new one with the same format.

Today I chose one of my wallpapers and pasted it over the Art Journal page. Then I stamped in two opposite corners, first with Mix a Sentiment 1 irregularly with gray ink and then on top, with Pencil Marks 5 in black ink.

I used a stencil and crackle paste to create a fourth layer that allows me to soften the contrast and add additional texture. Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo of this step.

Then it was time to work on bringing my focal points to life. At first, I wasn’t sure what kind of focal point I wanted. Hesitantly, I stamped some inky friends and the two beautiful cats from the Purr-fect set.
I stamped them on watercolor paper and colored them with my Tropicals watercolors. Then, as always, I added my style with Black and White acrylic markers. Finally, I chose this cute little cat.

I stamped the two round stamps of the set Pencil Marks 5 over book sheets and fuzzy cut them.

I usually use scraps of paper, silk ribbon washi tapes, and fabrics in my projects, so I chose a good amount of them to put under the kitty. I glued and stitched them together with my sewing machine to add these details that always make me happy.

Finally, I added some splatters with fuchsia liquid paint and also painted with it some elements and focal points to integrate them with the background.

Now I leave you some photos with details of the project.  I hope you like them as much as I do when making them.

Hugs, Priss
