Mixed Media Tags with Sketchy Leaves

Hi there, Susanne here! I made some lovely mixed media tags with our Sketchy Leaves! I made a mixed media background with mainly acrylics, some collage paper scraps and stamps from Mixed Media Marks 1 and Carved Collection 3. Scroll down for a quick process video.

I used watercolor paper for the tags, which I’ve cut with a die and my Big Shot. I started the backgrounds with some mark making using watercolor pencils in different colours. I then applied acrylic paints with my fingers. Once the background was dry I added even more mark making with pencils and some stamps. Finally I used neon pink acrylic ink to make some splatters. This gives the backgrounds some nice contrast.

The leaves are stamped to a watercolor backgound in black an then cut out. It’s always handy to have some collage fodder ready to go. I added some white and black splatters to make the tags look more messy and interesting.
