AHOY – Nautical Art Journal Page with Stencil Background

Hi there, Susanne here with a nautical art journal page using our brand new AHOY stamp set! I used a combination of acrlic inks and paints for the background. The boats are stamped to a light beige gelli print with some grungy textures going on.

I kept the background in blue and turquoise shades. I strated with turquoise acrlic ink and added some paynes grey paint on top. I removed some of this paint through our Organic 3 stencil. After this was dry I appied another layer with that same stencil using Cobalt Turquoise paint and a make-up sponge. To bring in texture I added stamping with images from Mix It Up 6 and AHOY and some white paint splatters.

Whilst the page was drying I cut out my boats and stamped the word AHOY to a map design paper (from a DCVW paper pad). I also stamped the word “journey” from our Mix It Up 6 stamp set. Additionally I cut out some more words from the map design paper.

To create a vintage look I lay down a glace of thinned down acrylic ink in Raw Sienna. That changed the style of the page completely and blended everything together. I adhered the boats and the words I cut out previously.

I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
