Abstract Art Journal Page with Acrylic Inks and Pencil Marks

Hi there, Susanne here with a super quick and easy abstract art journal page using acrylic inks and a botanical focal image from Pencil Marks 2. I added some texture to the background with scribbles, stamps and collage. Scroll down for a process clip.
I am starting the page by laying down the inks with big brush strokes in Burnt Sienna and Magenta. I am leaving some white areas to keep the contrast high. The book I am working in is a normal drawing sketchbook, no watercolor paper.
After the background was dry I added some mark making with background stamping and scribbles with a black watercolor pencil.
I stamped my focal image in black directly to the page and also onto a gelli print. I then cut out the single leaves of the branche and adhered them to the page. I glued down a small collage paper bit to the left of my layout to balance the composition. I brought in some highlights by adding white ink splatters.

Here is a glimpse of the process:
I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!
xx Susanne
