Abstract Mixed Media Art Journal Page with Sketchy Leaves Stencil and a Gel Print

Hi there, Susanne here with a quick and easy abstract mixed media art journal page that I made in my small spiral bound collage journal. I used one of the images from our Sketchy Leaves 2 stencil as my focal point. To start this spread I glued a gel print over the whole page.

I started this small art work by adding some white gesso to the gel print using a scraper tool. This breaks up the equal background and makes it more interesting. I then stamped some images from Mix It Up 4 and Pencil Marks 1 in black with StazOn. To change the colour I added Distress Crayons in Rusty Hinge and Wilted Violet. I blended the crayon with my fingers. I created the focal point by stenciling one of the images from Sketchy Leaves 2 with black acrylic paint an a make-up sponge.

Finally I inked up the edges with some black StazOn stamping ink. This gives it kind of a frame and makes it look more complete.
