Art Journal Process with Distress Inks & Mixed Media

Hi there, Susanne here with a new art journaling video using one of my favourite techniques with Distress Inks and our stencils. I am combining the background with mixed media, collage and stamps from Pencil Marks 8, A to Z and Mix It Up 7.
All the stencils I’ve used are listed at the end of this post. It’s an easy process – it might need a little bit practice in the beginning. I am picking my stencil, ink it up with a mix of Distress Inks or Oxides, add water with a spray bottle, turn the stencil around and press it to my page. I am using a kitchen roll to soak up the excess.
These are the inks I’ve used for today’s page
Distress Inks: Evergreen Bough, Crushed Olive, Pine Needles, Picked Raspberry
Distress Oxides: Iced Spruce, Worn Lipstick
After I was done with the background I added some black and white acrylic paint to calm things down. I added some black splatters and stamping with images from Pencil Marks 8 and Mix It Up 7.
The sentiment is stamped with our A to Z set and cut out.

For the focal image I used our Sketchy Leaves 7 stencil together with Distress Ink and embossing powder. You can watch the process here:

Thanks for stopping by today! xx Susanne
