Abstract Art Journal Page with Mixed Media & Sketchy Leaves 7

Hi there, Susanne here sharing an abstract mixed media art journal page together with our Sketchy Leaves 7 stencil, acrylic ink and watercolor crayons. I also use some stamps from Mix It Up 5 and Collage Leaves 3.

To start my spread I used our Sketchy Leaves 7 stencil together with black acrylic paint. I stenciled the images carefully to my page to not smudge it under the stencil. I applied some of the black paint directly to the spread and also made some scribbly marks with a Stabilo All pencil in black.
Once this was dry I applied acrylic ink in fluorescent pink. I added water and more colours with a Neocolor II crayon in yellow and an Art Graf Tailor Shape crayon in ochre and white.
I let that dry again before I went in with some background stamping using images from Mix It Up 5.
To lighten up the big black areas I painted a dot pattern with a white posca pen. The sentiment is from our Collage Leaves 3 stamp set. I adhered a botanical collage element, that was also made with Sketchy Leaves 7 .
