Art Journaling with Neocolors, Collage Fodder &Pencil Marks 8

Hi there, Susanne here sharing an art journaling video using Neocolor II Crayons, our Sketchy Leaves 6 stencil and stamps from Pencil Marks 8 . My focal point is a collage fodder element that I made a while back with some gelli paper scraps. Scroll down for the video!

I started the page by laying down Neocolors II and blending them with water and a brush in blue and yellow shades. Once that was dry I added even more Neocolor and blended them with Ultra Mat Medium. To bring in some lighter areas I applied white gesso in some spots with a palette knife. At this stage I thought about quitting that project – as I was not a fan of it.
Something I learned in my creative journey is, that you have to push through the ugly stage! So I did it. I added a bit of stamping with the dots from Pencil Marks 8 with StazOn in Midnight Black. I also layed down some really dark areas with the Indigo Neocolor II and removed some of the crayon through our Sketchy Leaves 6 stencil. To bring in more highlights and whites I stamped the same image with white acrylic paint.
To finish the page I arranged the collage fodder element on my spread and stamped a number from Mix It Up 7 to give it kind of a frame.
