Art Journal Spread with Watercolors, Inks and our Loose Florals

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a mixed media art journal page tutorial with our wonderful Loose Florals stamp set in one of altered book art journals.
I started the spread by laying down some watercolors in a loose and playful way. Once this was dry I used a bit of white gesso and applied it with my fingers in some areas. I love how it mixed with the watercolors. I let the spread dry completely before I did some background stamping using our Mix It Up 6 & Mix It Up 5 stamp sets.
I wanted to bring in more colour and decided to use acrylic inks in burnt sienna and prussian blue.
The images from our Loose Florals set are stamped to gelli prints and cut out. I am arranging the flowers to the spread and used some of my handmade washi tape and a bit of old book paper as kind of a bottom, where the flowers can grow out of. I’m going to link a video on how I made the Washis underneath.
To draw the flower stems and leaves I used black watercolor pencil. I colored the leaves in with a green acrylic paint marker.
I finished the page by adding some marks with a yellow posca paint pen and build a sentiment with words from our Mix A Sentiment stamp set.
