Art Journaling with Watercolors & Stamps – Beginner Friendly Tutorial

Hi there, Susanne here sharing an easy beginner friendly art journaling tutorial using watercolors combined with stamps from Pencil Marks 1. We are going to have a playful time! Scroll down for the video tutorial.
This art journal spread is very easy and uncomplicated and you can use any watercolor you might have on hand. For some special effects it might be nice to have a metallic color, but it is not necessary.
I start this spread by applying watercolors in a circular shape on my page. I stay wet in wet and try not to over work it. Keeping a lot of white space helps the focal image and the mark makings to stand out.
Once my first layer was dry I added a second one with a few dot patterns – really simple. That brought in more depth. To get more interest I did some stamping with images from Pencil Marks 1 once the page was completely dry.

I also added some gold watercolor paint dots to bring in even more interest and depth.
To finish up the page I adhered a few bits of collage papers together with some words from our Mix A Sentiment stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today! xx Susanne
