Art Journal Tutorial with Pencil Marks 4

Hello, Szilvi here with an art journal page video tutorial. It’s early October, and as I write this post, I can’t even feel autumn. Last week it was 29 degrees Celsius in Hungary. 🙂
And so it happened that I couldn’t and didn’t want to resist the flowers of Pencil Marks 4.

They are so cheerful that they were crying out for colours.

I started the creation with some collage paper and old book pages. Collage is a great way to get my creativity flowing. I didn’t even wait for the mod podge to dry, I immediately got out the paint and covered the entire page with different colours with my fingers. I just made sure to keep the collage paper pattern visible in a few places or to let the text bleed through the paint layer. I used the same stamp set to add a little embellishment to the background. (oh, and yes, I stamped the edges with one of the stamps from the Mixed Media Border set.) I followed that with stenciling, using the Lattice stencil in just a few places. Finally, I glued the flowers on the page, colored them with watercolor, and I scribbled a bit more.

Voila, we’re done.
