Mixed Media ATCs with Distress Ink Background & Textured Birds

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a trio of artist trading cards with some handmade design papers using Distress Inks together with our Mini Marks stencil and stamps from our Textured Birds 2 set

I made the background papers for these ATCs sometime ago and will share a video tutorial at the end of this post! I used Distress Inks and Oxides together with our Mini Marks stencil.
I cut the paper with an ATC frame die and mounted it to the same card, cut from poster board, to make it more stable. I added a bit of stamping with images from Mix It Up 7 and Mix It Up 6. I inked the edges of the card with black ink.
I stamped my birds to a piece of mixed media paper and also directly to the cards. I cut the ones out of the mixed media paper, directly on the black outline and adhered them into the images on my ATCs. With this method I am able to cut away the feet.
I coloured the birds with watercolor pencils in similar colors like the background.
