Easy Summer Art Journal Page with Pencil Marks 3

Hey, Isa Dor here! I hope your summer is unfolding as you wish, we’ve been having beautiful sunny and warm days here!

All this greenery and vibrant colors inspired me to create a journal page to reflect the beauty of that season!

I started making the background by gluing down pieces of gel-printed papers in the deep green and blue color range. To create contrast, I added a yellow-green and some black paper scraps.

Now onto the next step: I stamped a card stock with stamps that have writing or small numbers, like Art Defined, Vintage Hotel Receipt, or Vintage Script. For some, I used black ink, for others I used Distress Inks with a mist of water.

I then use a circle puncher in different sizes to cut three shapes I glued onto my page. The white background of the stamped card stock pieces adds light to the whole nicely.

Time to stamp and fussy cut my preferred leaf pattern from the Pencil Marks 3 stamp set on another piece of gel printed paper. This orange-yellow makes my background pop and I love it!

Once it was glued down, I did some anemic writing with a white gel pen and outlined the circle shapes with a black Stabile All to create more depth.

I thought I had finished but then I felt the eye needed a bit of direction following the line of the leaves! I stamped the right side of the page with the stitch stamp from the Mixed Media Borders set and ta-daaa!

I hope you enjoyed following along with me, and don’t forget to share your creations with your own favorite stamps on our Facebook page RubberDance Stamping Lounge or on Instagram #rubberdancestamps! 🎨🌸
