Altered Index Cards with Distress Inks and Pencil Marks 5

Hi there, Susanne here with some creative mixed media inspiration! Today I am sharing some fun altered mixed media index cards using Distress Inks together with our Marks 3 stencil and stamps from Pencil Marks 5. There are just a few left of this clear stamp set! This one won’t be restocked once it’s sold out!
I started these cards by smooshing down some Distress Inks in a blue and pink shade (unfortunately I can’t remember the exact colours. To bring in the stencil texture I inked up the stencil with black soot Distress Ink, spritzed it with water and dipped the cards onto it.
I am demonstrating this technique in this video clip (just with different colors)
I also smooshed on some Distress Oxide (old paper) for even more texture. It’s important to let the layers dry in between, so you don’t mix up everything!
I did some background stamping in black to bring in more details using stamps from Mix It Up 6.
For my focal images, the leaves I used stamps from Pencil Marks 5. I stamped them to mixed media paper and colored them also by dipping them into some Distress Inks on my craft mat. I adhered them on top of a few collage bits.
Here are some close-up images:

I added a word to each card stamped with our Mix A Sentiment stamp set and I also added a die-cut tab to the top, for some extra interest.
I hope you like my cards! Thanks for stopping by today!
xx Susanne
