Mixed Media ATCs with Butterflies and Moths

Hey! It’s Laura on the blog today and I have some fun ATC’s to share with you featuring the Butterflies and Moths as my focal images.
I don’t know about you, but I LOVE creating ATCs. They’re a great way to play with your supplies and create little mini piece of art – and of course you can swap them, share them, turn them into little greeting cards or keep them to inspire yourself when you get stuck in a creative rut.
To create my ATCs I actually used a scrap piece of card on my desk from a gel printing session. It was just the card I was rolling my brayer off onto. I had been using dye based inks on my gel press and simply cleaning the brayer on a scrap of card. When I finished I was about to throw it away but thought it looked so good it would make a great background for some ATCs!

I trimmed the card down into 3 pieces of 2.5 x 3.5 inches (the standard ATC size). I used the Mix it Up 4 stamp set with some black pigment ink to add some bold crisp stamping to the background. I then added some white texture paste through the Ornament 1 stencil and added WOW Embossing Powder in Gilded Patina.

For my focal images I used the Butterflies and Moths stamp set and I stamped them in black ink, clear heat embossed them for the added shine and then fussy cut them out and adhered them to my ATCs using glue but only on the bodies of the butterflies and moths so that the wings had some movement.

To finish I added words using the Mix a Sentiment stamp set which were white heat embossed on black card.
I hope you like how these turned out as much as I do! Don’t forget to check out the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge Facebook group where you can find lots of inspiration too as well as on the blog.
Happy crafting!
