Mixed Media ATCs with Textured Mushrooms and Distress Ink Background

Hi there, Susanne here with a mixed media ATC video tutorial using our new Textured Mushrooms 2 stamp set on a Distress Ink background together with some of our Autumn Leaves. They are 10% off during September! Grab your’s now!

For the artist trading cards I prepared a big Distress Ink background. I used an A4 sheet of Canson XL watercolor paper. I smooshed the ink pads to my craft mat, mixed them a little with my fingers, spritzed them with water and dipped the paper into it. I used Fossilized Amber, Aged Mahagony and Rusty Hinge for the first layer. After this was dry I did the same with the Forest Moos.

I used a view finder to choose which areas of the paper I wanted to cut into an ATCs. Finally I ended up with six of them. For more interest on the background I stamped them with some images from the Autumn Leaves set. I used the same inks that I’ve already used for the background. To bring in even more contrast and texture I used our Marks 3 stencil and inked it up heavily with Distress Ink Ground Espresso. I spritzed it with quite a big amount of water, layed it onto my craft mat (the ink facing up) and dipped the cards slightly on.

To finish the ATCs I adhered the mushrooms and a sentiment. The mushrooms are stamped with Versafine Clair in black and embossed with clear powder. I colored them with Brusho watercolor pigments. You can see how I did them in this video: https://youtu.be/YGmLqILzOR4 (deutsch: https://youtu.be/Tsc7e3GFVL4)
