Mixed Media ATCs with Pencil Marks 1

Hi it’s Sara Ferret here with a set of mixed media artist trading cards using stamps from Pencil Marks 1. I have to admit that sometimes starting a creative project without a clear idea is difficult, because the blank paper most of the time blocks us.

In this case we can look for inspiration in projects made by other artists, or look for templates or color combinations already used, either in an existing project that you like how they look, or in a color combo.

To give you an example, I have used a proposal from last year from Rubberdance mood board it’s from April 2023.

I have decided to use these colors that appear here, in this color combo, this way I make sure, that it will look good all this colors together.

I start with these wooden ATCs with a white gesso background, I apply the stencil pattern of Marks 2 with modeling paste and then I start adding the colors that appear on the inspiration board, I use watercolors, waxes, inks with stamps, acrylic paint markers all in the same color combination.

To create volume and texture I use stamps Pencil Marks 1 set, I stamped on other papers to overlap them and fabrics of this tone as well, some thread.

I put a word in each of the ATCs and we would have the creation ready.

I recommend that if you are lacking inspiration, look in blogs, in your mobile photo gallery, on social networks or simply around you, looking for things that can give you ideas to create, it is not about copying something that exists but rather looking for the spark that gives you awaken this creativity that we all have inside.

Thanks for stopping by today!
