Mixed Media Index Card with Collage Fodder & Stencil Background
Hi there, Susanne here with a mixed media index card using some handmade collage fodder botanicals on a messy background. For that I used our Rainbows 2 stencil together with heavy gesso to create a pattern. I picked two stenciled focal images that I made using our Sketchy Leaves 1 and Sketchy Leaves 3 stencils together with the gel plate.
I cut this card (3.5″ x 5″) from heavy weight watercolor cardboard and applied the stencil texture. After this was dry I used Derwent Inktense pencils to bring in some color. For a grungy look I used Derwent Charcoal as well. To highlight some of the stencil texture I am slighly going over with my finger and a tiny amount of the gesso again. To bring in even more texture I used stamps from our Mix It Up 1 and and Mixed Media Marks 1 sets. The words are from our Mixed Sentiments 1 stamp set.
Here is a video tutorial on how I made the collage fodder:
I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!
xx Susanne

Hi Susanne! I love your work. What kind of paper are you using in the video?
Thank you!!
Hi Liz! Happy you like the cards. The paper I used for the fodder is “normal” pinter paper. I think it was around 200gsm.
