Mixed Media Tags with Gel printed Backgrounds

Hey there, Selene’s on the blog today with a couple of cute mixed media tags using images from the lovely Pencil Marks 7 stamps set togethere with a collage background.
The process included a lot: gel press and acrylics backgrounds, distress oxides on scrap paper, stamps, stitches and a lace border as well. I’m one of those that have to start AND finish the projects within the same session, otherwise their destiny is to sit there unfinished. Therefore, I usually do not mix too many techniques: it takes more time than I have 😀
But… in this case I already had a good collection of gel press backgrounds I made on a previous session and so I decided to use them. Also because, for once, they were quite nice and not a complete mess!
Here are some examples of the background I made using rubber dance stencils and stamps, such as Pencil Marks 7, Mix It Up 4 and Small Triangles:

As a focal image I used a flowers and the leaf from Pencil Marks 7 stamps set. The focal images are stamped with water resistant inks, which are archival inks for the flower and Versafine Clair for the leaf.
I decided to add stitches on the bigger flower – I immediately regretted the procedure 😀 but I think the result is quite good! I think the messy stitches are a good match for the sentiment: “You are beautiful”, no matter any imperfection!
Below a few close up pictures of the tags:

Below you can find the stamps sets and stencils I used and, as usual, do not forget to share you makes and tag Rubber Dance in your posts!!! Thanks for stopping by!
