Set of Notelets using Sketchy Birds #2 and Gel Prints

Hi! It’s Laura here and I’m so excited to be sharing my first blog post for Rubber Dance. I made a set of 4 notelets using some gel prints I’d made using stamps and stencils from Rubber Dance. For my focal images I used the Sketchy Birds #2 Stamp Set and the new Collage Leaves Stamp Set. I hope you like them!

First I selected the gel prints that I wanted to use. To create my gel prints I used a mixture of stencils and stamps from Rubber Dance including Criss-Cross, Ink Dots, Organic 3 and Sketchy Leaves 2 stencils and the Mix it Up 1 Stamp set.

For my focal points I used Collage Leaves and Sketchy Birds #2 Stamp Sets. I stamped them on watercolour cardstock and heat embossed them in clear embossing powder. I then water coloured my images and once they were dry I fussy cut them out.

Once I had adhered all the gel prints down to my card panels I let them dry and then I was able to trim off the excess so that they had nice neat edges. I then adhered them down to the black mat layers I had already pre-cut.

Next it was time to choose my focal elements and make sure I was happy with the layout on my cards. I always like to play around with my layout before I stick anything down to make sure I’m happy with it!

I adhered the leaves down flat using glue. To add extra interest I added some black cotton thread and added some foam pads to the back of the birds. I also added some liquid glue to the foam pads to ensure they stuck down securely holding the cotton thread in place too.

Here’s some close up photos of my cards too:

I hope you like them! Thank you so much for reading and don’t forget to share your makes in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge Facebook Group!
