Mixed Media Tag with Distress Ink & Oxide Background

Hi there, Susanne here with a mixed media tag made with a lovely Distress Ink and Oxide background using our Ornament stencil. I am using one of the Butterflies and Moths stamps as my focal point. There is a quick process video when you scroll down, too!

I cut my tag base from the Canson Mix Media paper using a frame cutting die. To apply the inks I was working on my gelli plate, but you can use your usual craft mat as well! I am working with Distress Inks in Forest Moos and Rusty Hinge on my first layer. For the second layer I used Distress Oxide in Cracked Pistaccio together with our Ornament stencil. Oxides are more opaque because of their white pigment and will layer on top of the Distress Inks.
To finish the background I added a bit of stamping using black ink and images from Mix It Up 4, Mix It Up 5 and Mix It Up 6.
You can watch the process here:

For the focal image I used one of our Butterflies and Moths stamps. I embossed it with black powder and coloured it with metallic watercolors. I adhered it on top of a die cut from Tim Holtz, that I had already in my stash, and some black thread.

I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
