Use Brushos with a Textured Stencil Background

Hi everyone! It’s Hege here with a mixed media tag using Brushos on top of a textured stencil background using the Small Triangles stencil.

I have had so much fun playing with stencils, molding/modeling paste and Brusho pigment powder on tags today! I want to show you how I made one of the tags in today.

I used a white paper tag, the Small Triangles stencil, and light molding paste.

I applied the paste through the stencil. I chose to leave some of the surface without paste.

After the paste dried I sprinkled a little Brusho powder on the tag (you don’t need much!). I used two colours: Turquoise and Gamboge.

Then I activated the powder by spritzing water on the tag.
I love how this turned out!

I embellished the tag with stamped butterflies from the Butterflies and Moths set, coloured with a Brusho in the same colour as the background, a strip of Washi Tape mounted on orange paperm and a sentiment.

The butterflies are glued just in the middle, and the wings are slightly elevated to make the butterflies stand out from the background.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial, maybe you will try playing with stencils, modeling paste and Brusho yourself? Wishing you a creative day! Hege x
