Distress Oxide Colour Swatch Tag Book

Hello everyone. It’s Sixela on the blog today with a fun idea on how to keep record of your Distress Oxide Ink pads! We are going to make a colour swatch chart with tags. I like not only to have the colour on the tags, I also want to know how the ink stamps and layers! Interested? Read on and watch the video!

I used stamps from our Mix It Up 7 stamps and the lovely Rainbows 2 stencil to make my marks!

Material list:
– Distress Oxide
Rainbows 2 stencil
Mix It Up 7 stamps
– acrylic block
– white bristol tags (or your prefered paper to work on)
– cloth
– water spray
– blending brush
– glass plate or crafting mat

First, apply the distress oxide ink with the brush on the stencil Rainbows 2 stencil. Then apply ink to the pad of the Mix It Up 7 board stamps and stamp the design on the bottom of the tag.
Spray water on the pad and then dab on scraps of paper so as not to lose ink.
Turn the tag over, then apply ink to the glass plate, spray water on it, mix with your finger, then apply to the tag. This gives you a really nice watercolor effect. Collect the rest with scraps of paper.
Then apply ink directly to the Rainbows 2 stencil then spray with water and turn the stencil over the bottom of the tag. Wipe off lightly dabbed.

Tricks:

Always clean the brush, stamp, stencil and glass worktop well between two different colours!Always collect as much ink as possible with some scraps of paper so as not to waste it and use it again for future creations!
