Watercolor Index Cards with Pencil Marks 1

Hi there, Susanne here with a stamped watercolor index card. The card background is made with some loose watercoloring on a watercolor cardboard which I’ve cut to the size of 4″ x 6″. I added stamping with images from Pencil Marks 1 and Pencil Marks 2 and did some mark making with Posca paint pens. I’m sharing a quick process when you scroll down.

For the watercolor background I picked some harmonious colours like turquoise, opera rose and quinachridone gold. I also used some granulating dusk pink to bring in more interest. I worked in two layers. The first was a wet in wet blending, after this was dry I added some circular shapes on top using the same colours. Once the background was dry I added the stamped images in matching colours. I used a white posca pen to bring in some highlights.
For some final accents I painted some metallic gold ovals and coloured the botanicals with a Posca paint pen.

Here is a glimpse into the process:

I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
