AHOY! – Greeting Card Tutorial

Hello, Samantha with you today. I can’t believe it is already May, time to start thinking about and going on our holidays. I remember as a child posting postcards to friends and family – does anyone still do that with all the modern technology we have now?

Postcards are a wonderful size to work on being approximately 4 inches by 6 inches. So with all these thoughts of holidays and getting away to the seaside I made a postcard using two wonderful stamp sets, Ahoy! and the new Mixed Sentiments 1.

To begin I created the background with distress inks and various stencils and stamping the Mixed Sentiments stamp set.

I then stamped some of the images from the Ahoy stamp set on white card and coloured using watercolours.

I added some washi tape and some inky splats to the postcard and white heat embossed the sentiment. I stamped the two boats directly on to the postcard to save some intricate scissor cutting and show the ropes off so well.

Thanks for stopping by, Sam
