Greeting Card with Stencil Background and Distress Inks

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a greeting card using stamps from our new Butterflies and Moths on a Distress Ink stencil background with our Marks 3 stencil. Scroll down for a quick instruction video.

I started this card by smooshing my background paper (Canson Mix Media) into the Distress Inks on my craft mat. I used some autumnal colors in green and orange. Unfortunately I can’t remember which ones exactly. To add contrast and interest I inked up our Marks 3 stencil with Distress Ink in black soot, gave this a good spritz of water and pressed the background into the wet ink.

Here is a video on how I made the texture with the stencil.

Once everything was dry I added even more texture with stamp from Mix It Up 6. To give it a grungy effect I distressed the edges with a distress tool. I then adhered my background to a card.
For my focal images I stamped one of the butterflies with Versafine Clair in black and cut it out. I adhered it to my card with some 3d foam dots. For the sentiment I used my old Dymo label maker.

To finish the card I applied a few Nuvo Drops here and there. I hope you like the card! Thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
