Cardmaking meets Paper Piecing with Textured Bird 2

Hi! It’s Hege here with a new post and a lovely graphical greeting card using the wonderful Textured Birds 2 stamp set together with handmade papers and the paper piecing technique.

With this technique you can create gorgeous unique birds! It can be used on other stamps as well, but the Textured Birds 2 are perfect for this because the design makes it easy to cut in parts for paper piecing.

I used gelliprinted paper, but you can use any kind of coloured paper. Choose some contrasting colours

Stamp some birds on both white cardstock and the coloured paper

Use scissors and cut out the birds from the coloured paper

Cut the different parts of the birds along the lines…

… and mix the bits from the different birds, so that the colours get mixed. Then glue them on the white cardboard-birds (I used a glue stick).

Cut out the finished birds, and you will have unique focal points to use on your paper projects!

I used one of the birds I made as a focal point on a 10×15 cm card, and have three more unique birds to use on future projects!
Wishing you a creative day! x Hege
