Rainbow Card with Stencil Background and Distress Inks

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a greeting card using a butterfly stamp from our Inky Friends set on a Distress Ink stencil background with our Marks 3 stencil. Scroll down for a quick instruction video.
I started this card with a precolored paper that I’d made with liquid watercolors a while ago. Unfortunately I can’t remember which colors I used exactly. To add contrast and interest I inked up our Marks 3 stencil with Distress Ink in black soot, gave this a good spritz of water and pressed the background into the wet ink.
Here is a video on how I made the texture with the stencil on another background.
Once everything was dry I added even more texture with stamp from Mix It Up 6. To give it a grungy effect I distressed the edges with a distress tool. I then adhered my background to a card. I stamped the buttefly also to a pre-inked background. For this I used our Scribbles stencil together with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Peacolock Feathers. I added some more coloring with watercolor markers to highlight the butterflie’s shapes and adhered it to my card with some 3d foam dots. For the sentiment I used my old Dymo label maker.

I hope you like the card! Thanks for stopping by today!
xx Susanne
