Easy Card with Textured Sea Creatures

Hello there! Priss here. Are you ready to dive into the deep blue sea with our latest tutorial? In this post, I’ll show you how to create a beautiful and easy-to-make card using adorable seahorses stamps in shades of blue and green. But that’s not all! We’ll also guide you through the process of creating a stunning background using just one simple mixed-media technique. So, grab your crafting supplies, and let’s get started!

First. you need some inks in blue tones (it doesn’t matter which ones). Take a stamp that makes a simple mark. In this case, I chose the round stamp from the set Carved Collection 3. Then apply the inks with a brush or a sponge, as I show you in the video.

Is important to use watercolor paper and a spray of water.

And voilá! The background is ready. Now glue it over a blue cardstock to make a frame that helps to stand out the card.

Using the Textured Sea Creatures stamps set, choose your favorite designs and stamp them onto watercolor paper. Then, grab your favorite watercolor paints and give these little creatures some color and personality. But don’t stop there! Let’s bring these seahorses to life! Add some depth and dimension with your colored pencils by highlighting and shading. Trust me, these simple techniques will make your seahorses pop off the page!

Once you’ve painted your seahorses with colors and shadings, it’s time to add a personal touch. I like to use white and black acrylic markers to create small dots of different sizes on certain areas of the stamped image before cutting it out. These dots add a unique level of detail to each figure and make them truly stand out. Don’t you think?

I selected the sentiment “Take a Deep Breath” from the AHOY set, as it’s a great reminder to take a moment to care for yourself or a friend who may be in need. Check out another inspiring project featuring this set here.

Now I leave you with a few close-up photos.

And finally, it’s time for the fun part! Check out the video below to see this simple and beautiful technique. You could make it with different stamps and enjoy testing another color combination. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this!

Hope you enjoyed this mini tutorial and feel inspired to create your own ocean-themed cards with these adorable stamps. You could see more inspiration using these stamps here.

And finally, don’t forget to share your creations with us in our FB group (Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge), we’d love to see them!

Hugs, Priss
