Encouragement Card using AHOY and Loose Florals

Hey! It’s Laura on the blog today and I have a bright and cheery encouragement card to share with you using the lovely AHOY and Loose Florals stamp set on a stencil background using Marks 3!

To create my card I first used the Marks 3 stencil and added a light shade of peach ink and then I shifted the stencil and added a darker shade of red ink through the stencil. I added some text stamping to the background using a stamp from the Mix it Up 6 stamp set.

For my focal images I choose to use the lighthouse from AHOY and some of the flowers and leaves from the Loose Florals stamp sets.

I loosely water coloured my images on water colour cardstock and fussy cut them out. I attached them with liquid glue but I didn’t completely cover the back with glue so that I could tuck the leaves behind too.

For a sentiment I used the Mix a Sentiment stamp set. I white heat embossed the words on black cardstock and then I could cut out the words I wanted for a custom sentiment.

I hope this gives you some inspiration and some ideas for ways you can use your stamps to create cards that have a mixed media feel!
