Beautiful Greeting Cards with Gelli Background and Sketchy Leaves 5

Hi there, Susanne here sharing two beautiful greeting cards with our Sketchy Leaves 4 and Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil! The last one mentioned is brand new and 10% off until Sunday, October the 20th.

I started these cards with some gel printing using PanPastels together with the two stencils. I laid the stencil onto the plate and applied the pastels with a makeup sponge. I then turned the stencil around and paced it into the empty areas to transfer the pastels that were left on the stencil. You can then make the prints by brayering white paint on top. Usually you can pick at least three prints from one layer of pastels. I will make a video tutorial for this technique soon!

Here is a little peak on what I achieved:

I cut the gel prints with a stitched frame die and glued it onto a kraft card base.

To create some focal images I used the stencils together with Distress Oxide inks and embossing powders. To avoid that the stencil is moving, it’s best to lay the paper and the stencil onto the gel plate. It will stick to it and the paper and stencil doesn’t move that easy.
After I had applied the ink I covered the image with embossing powder. I used a glitter powder from WOW and an embossing enamel from Stampendous. (not sure if these are still available)

Here is a quick video on how I made the focal images:

I cut out the embossed leaves and adhered them with foam dots to the cards. I finished them up by adding a sentiment. Here are some close-ups of the cards:

Thanks for stopping by today! xx Susanne
