Create amazing layered Gelli Prints with Autumn Leaves

Hi there, Susanne here sharing an new gelli printing video tutorial using a great layering technique with Distress Inks and our Autumn Leaves stamp set. We will make some amazing autumn-themed papers today!

These prints work in two layers – one layer will be a Distress Ink background and then we are going to print over it with transparent acrylic paints on the Gel Plate. For the Distress Ink (you can also use Oxides) background it’s best to take mid-tone colours. Anything too dark will show up very dominant later, anything too light will become almost invisible. I used colours like Rusty Hinge, Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Seedles Preserves…
For the acrylic paints it should be either transparent paints or semi-transparent ones. You can see this on a small square that is on the paint bottle. It should be empty or half empty. That’s the sign for a paint to be transparent. I am working with Amsterdam (Burnt Sienna & Permanent Red Violet) and Schmincke (Sap Green, Indian Yellow, Alizarin Crimson & Cobalt Turquoise).
I am using the Canson Mix Media Paper.
