Grungy Butterflies and Pencil Marks Art Journal Page

Hello, Samantha here today and I’m sharing a tutorial showing how I made another page ready for my art journal. This page was an absolute joy to create, the colours and images worked perfectly together. I am playing with stamps from the Mixed Media Borders set and Pencil Marks 3 stamp set.

I began by creating a vibrant background using vibrant colours and stamped directly on to it using different stamps from the sets mention at the top.

Then using white gesso and the dry brush technique, knock back the bright colours.

I then stamped the butterfly and rainbow on to white card and coloured using watercolour paints. Also stamping the sentiment on to black card and white heat embossing.

Finishing touches include adding some inky splats and stamping the butterfly directly on to the background so I didn’t need to the fussy cut the antenna.
