Abstract Watercolor Art with Mark Making and Pencil Marks 2

Hi there, Susanne here with an abstract watercolor spread. I did this in a big spiral bound sketchbook containing usual drawing paper. I worked with a circle layout, mark making with Neocolors and watercolor pencils and stamps from our Pencil Marks 2 stamp set. Scroll down for a process video.

I worked loosely with the paints and also used quite a lot of water. In addition to “normal” watercolor I also picked a granulating violet to add some gorgeous texture. Whilst the paints where still wet I scribbled onto the page with a watercolor pencil in black and a red Neocolor II. I also added some splatters for more vibrancy.

After everything was dry I stamped the botanical images from Pencil Marks 2. I coloured those in with coloured pencils. To let them pop up from the background I put a layer of blue watercolor around the left leaves. For more interest I made marks with a blue Neocolor.

To finish up the page I added even more texture with our Vintage Postcard stamp.

I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
