Pocket Journal Page with Pencil Marks 6

Hi there, Szilvi here with a mixed media art journal tutorial with the lovely Pencil Marks 6 stamp set and some rainbow stenciling. My inspiration today is very interesting for me. I was thinking all the time today that January is a bit of a wasted month for many people (myself included). The holidays are over, it’s winter, it’s cold, there’s nothing to prepare for, we just wait. We wait for next month, because maybe then the coming of spring will be more tangible. At least for me. 😀

Today I was wondering why..why is it not good to be in the present..there is so much beauty..the misty landscape in the morning, the cold breath, the bruise on the trees and plants. So I forced myself to pause a little.

While I was creating it, I chose the colours that together give a winter atmosphere. What colours bring this mood to you? The cool colours of nature with the colourful berries that pop up here and there? Or do you prefer colours that remind you of a snuggle?
I painted these randomly with my fingers on the page. Then I doodled on the darker parts with a white cheek marker, because I like contrast. This time I stamped a piece of Mixed Media Borders not on the edges of the page, but horizontally, roughly in the middle. I’ll be honest, if I hadn’t been videoing it, this would have been the moment when I declared my page finished, because it looks so good to my eyes already. I further decorated the page with the Rainbows 1 stencil. Finally, I used the flower from the Pencil Marks 6 set as the main motif. It looks like it’s blowing in the wind. I like it very much.

I hope I have inspired you a little.

Hugs,

Szilvi
