Small Mixed Media Art with Sketchy Leaves Stencil and a Gel Print

Hi there, Susanne here with a quick and easy abstract mixed media piece that is done on a gelli prints cut to the size of 4″ x 4″ inches. I used one of the images from our Sketchy Leaves 3 stencil as my focal point.

I started this small art work by adding some white gesso to the gel print using a scraper tool. This breaks up the equal background and makes it more interesting. I then stamped some images from Mix It Up 4 and Mix It Up 3 in black. I added the focal point by stenciling one of the images from Sketchy Leaves 3 with black acrylic paint an a make-up sponge. To finish it up I made some art marks with a turquoise Neocolor and added some words from our Mix A Sentiment stamp set.

Finally I inked up the edges with some black StazOn stamping ink. This gives it kind of a frame and makes it look more complete.
