AHOY! Artist Trading Cards with Collage

Hi everyone it’s Laura on the blog today and I have an inspiration post to share with you using the new AHOY stamp set. I made two mixed media artist trading cards with a collage background.

I find creating ATCs helps to get the creative process going especially if you’re struggling with a creative slump. I really enjoyed putting these ATCs together using some gel prints I had created previously.

In case you have never heard of ATCs – Artist Trading Cards, these are little artworks created in a size of 2.5″ x 3.5″ of any kind of material (paper, collage, clay, wood, fabric…). They are meant to be for trading beyond artists, not to sell them. It’s a nice thing to collect different ATCs from other artists.

For my ATCs I stamped my images on khadi paper and fussy cut them out after water colouring them.

I used the lighthouse and one of the sail boats of the AHOY stamp set to build my focal points and the Mix A Sentiment stamp set for my words. I like to add texture so I added some torn vellum, cotton thread and staples for added interest.
