Mixed Media Index Cards with Collage and Pencil Marks

Hi there, Susanne here with some mixed media index cards with a leaf stamp from Pencil Marks 5 on a collage background, that is textured with images from Mix It Up 4 and Mix It Up 6.

I started these cards with some random collage bits. The most of them had some reds or neutral colors on them. To bring in texture and contrast I applied some ultramarine soft pastel and moved the pigments around with water. I love this technique so much, the texture you are getting is amazing. This does not work with all soft pastel brands, but with many of them. To bring in even more interest I stamped different images randomly with different colors using the Mix It Up 4 and Mix It Up 6 stamp sets.

As my focal point I picked a stamped image from Pencil Marks 5. The clear version of this set is almost sold out. But it’s also available as an unmounted rubber sheet. I adhered the leaf with a piece of black thread underneath, so it doesn’t look so naked and it has something to sit on.
