Greeting Card with Sketchy Birds and Autumn Leaves Stamps

Hi there, Laura here on the blog today with an autumnal greeting card and I’ve used a stamp from the Sketchy Bird stamp set as my focal image. I chose to leave this card without a sentiment but let me know in the comments would you have left it sentiment free or would you have added one?

So first of all I cut a card front measuring 5.5 inches squared. I then added Vintage photo Distress Oxide ink using a blending brush and faded it out towards the centre but making sure the edges were darker. I then spritzed it with water and dabbed it off.

Once the background was completely dry I then added some stamping using Versafine Clair Acorn Ink. I used the Autumn Leaves stamp set and stamped them all around the edge of the card keeping the centre clear.

I then used the Mix a Sentiment 2023 stamp set to add some subtle text stamping in the background also using the Acorn Ink.

Once my image was water coloured I fussy cut the bird out but to make it easier I cut the legs off and stamped them directly on the card front once I had decided where I wanted my bird to be placed. I then heat set the legs with clear embossing powder too so it blended in with the bird as well. To finish my card I popped the birds body on some foam tape and I added a mat layer of metallic gold cardstock and that was the card finished! I couldn’t decide on a sentiment and in the end I decided I actually liked it without one! Here is a close up photo of the finished card:
