DIY Collage Paper – Make Amazing Gelli Prints for Spring

Hi there, Susanne here with a gelli printing session making some bright and happy collage papers with our Dotted, Mini Textures and Sketchy Leaves 7 stencils. These are perfect for all those upcoming spring projects!

Before we jump into today’s creative project I want you to know that we are taking a little winter break from today to the New Year! We hope you’ll have some wonderful days with your families and we wish you a happy, creative and healthy 2026! BTW: 2026 is the code to save 12% on your order over 50€! This is valid until the January 1st!

Now let’s dive into the world of Gelli Printing!
I am using the Dotted and Mini Textures not directly with the gel plate. I made myself some dry embossed card stock pieces to bring the pattern to the gel plate. We have a tutorial on how to emboss with a stencil and a die cutting machine here.

From the Sketchy Leaves 7 I am using only the masks. The prints are super easy. I just ink up the gelli plate, place the masks onto it and then put the paper down. I am using rice paper. It’s very thin and perfect for collages! Make sure to press the paper very well into the tiny gaps between the leaves to pick up all the paint. Remove your paper and the masks. Let the paint dry for about 30-60s and put a layer of white paint over the top to pull another print! That will clean you gelli plate and you get another lovely paper.

Enjoy watching me doing some prints.

Here are some close ups of the prints I’ve made. I can’t wait to use them during the next weeks!!!

Thanks for stopping by today! xx Susanne
